Meet Ashton Jeanty, the next great workhorse RB to enter the NFL. If you haven't already heard the name, get ready to learn it. The generational prospect has the potential to turn any given play into a house call, paired with his elite tackle-breaking ability, and impressive receiving skills. Jeanty finished his Junior season at Boise State as the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy after falling short of breaking Barry Sanders' single season rushing record by only 27 yards.

Why Ashton Jeanty Belongs on Your DFS Radar

✅ Breaking Tackles: One of the most impressive areas of Jeanty's game is his ability to break tackles. It's very rare to see the first defender bring him down, averaging 5.25 yards after contact, with 151 missed tackles forced, and a 215.1 elusive rating per PFF. Contact balance is imperative to be an elite RB in the NFL and Ashton has received comparisons to Alvin Kamara in this area.

✅ Elite Speed: His burst and acceleration allow him to hit the hole and explode through the first layer of the defense. During the 2024 season, Jeanty hit a top speed of over 22 mph, per ESPN. He led the NCAA with 36 runs of 15+ yards, showcasing his game-breaking speed and touchdown potential.

✅ Receiving Ability: Jeanty is more than comfortable catching the ball which will prove to be a plus factor in any PPR format. Despite only 23 receptions in 2024, he had 43 the year before, proving he has potential in the passing game. Look for his landing spot in the draft to have a large impact on his receiving usage compared to how Boise State utilized him primarily on the ground.

The Path to Fantasy Impact

There's no doubt that Ashton Jeanty will have an immediate impact on the 2025 Fantasy season. It won't take long for his salary to skyrocket in contests close to the range of Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs. Although he won't be participating in the drills at the combine this weekend, keep an eye out for his Boise State Pro Day. Jeanty has catapulted himself into first-round discussion for the NFL draft, the only question is, will he break into the top 10 or will he fall into the Cowboys' lap at pick 12?
