We are officially in Super Bowl week and the only question that seems to matter is ‘where did the time go.  Every year it feels like we sit here and truly question what happened that made the football season go so fast. I saw a tweet the other day that said Jalen Carter spitting on Dak Prescott felt like it was yesterday and now we have a Sam Darnold vs Drake Maye Super Bowl, regardless we have news and topics to cover so lets get to it.

Preview

Two 14-3 teams will meet in Santa Clara this Sunday to face off in the 60th Super Bowl. The Seattle Seahawks have arguably been the most dominant team throughout the entirety of the 2025-2 6 season. Sam Darnold has fit into the offense in such a way that has allowed JSN to become WR1 in the league and also create a dominant running back duo of Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker. Unfortunately, Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL earlier in the playoffs, leaving Walker to shoulder the bulk of the workload. The tale of this team falls on the defense. 1st in points allowed per game, 1st in defensive touchdowns and 3rd in offensive rush yards per game. A lot of the reason this team is here can be credited to one of the most elite season long defensive performances we have ever seen.

As for the opposition the New England Patriots are likely in a Super Bowl much earlier than most people thought. The idea that the schedule helped their cause is one that is being floated around quite consistently, and while I think the claim has its footing, you do have to give some credit to the Pats for winning the game and carving their way into the Super Bowl. Drake Maye has had an unbelievable season. The MVP award is likely coming down to either him or Matt Stafford. Nearly 4400 pass yards to go along with a 31/8 TD to INT ratio as well as averaging 26.5 rush yards a game plus 4 rushing touchdowns makes for a season to remember. While the defense is not the best of the best it ranks top 10 in most major defensive categories like points per game, rush yards per game and receiving yards per game. As predicted the offensive led by Maye was excellent all year long. 2nd in points per game, 3rd in total touchdowns and 1st in yards per play, the offense is making the schedule claim look more and more false each day.

The Seahawks open as favourites to win this game which makes sense in my personal opinion, but I think this game will make for a very fun watch. One of the more fun parts of the Super Bowl is all the outside stuff that people look and watch for. I'm taking coin toss, gatorade colour, first song, and all the reasons why non football fans tune it, anyway lets give some predictions on these events.

Winner: Seahawks

Score: 27-21

Length of Anthem: Over 119.5 Seconds

Coin Toss: Tails

First Bad Bunny Song: Titi Me Pregunto

Gatorade Colour: Orange

Rocket TD Scorers

If you've been following along you know how much of a struggle it has been to hit one of these Rocket TD scorers parlay…. BUT the tides have changed and we finally cashed it come championship weekend, with both Drake Maye and Cooper Kupp reaching the endzone last weekend. Maybe this will be the beginning of something heading into the final game this season.

Hunter Henry

  • There’s been a lot of buzz around Hunter Henry this week. Seattle plays a heavy dose of zone defense, which is where Henry tends to thrive. It might be a bit chalky, but this feels like a spot worth riding.

Rashid Shaheed

  • If there’s one player who can flip the game in an instant, it’s Shaheed. Whether it’s a return or a deep shot downfield, he has the ability to ignite the crowd with one play. In a game this big, explosive moments tend to find their way onto the biggest stage.

Putting these two together gives us a 6.4x multiplier, being our final picks of the season, we're hoping for some good luck this time around and maybe ending the season on a 2 pick winning streak.  Regardless, writing these blogs has been a pleasure, make sure to stay with these as I am still continuing the hockey fights blog and I'm certain something will come to fill the hole these football blogs will create, but time will answer that question. Enjoy the Super Bowl and make sure to browse Ownerbox and all the markets that are available.
